William Knight of Tyngreiff made 23 June 1542, pr. 3 Aug. 1542.
Testament Burial in the church yard of Tyngreffe; to mother church of Lincoln 2d.; to the high altar in Tyngreff a quarter of barley; to that church 10s. to buy a cross and a cross cloth. £6 sterling is to be distributed among people in Tyngreff at the four quarters of the year imediately after his death. To the maintenance of the church and steeple of Tyngreff 5 quarters of barley; and sir Thomas Bawnford is to sing a trental of masses for the souls of testator and all Christians in the church of Tyngreffe.
To every surviving child of Robert Bostocke a ewe and a lamb. To every godchild a ewe and a lamb.
To Renold Knight the son of John Knight £4 when he comes to lawful age, and should be die before then the money is to go to testator's son Robert. To his daughter Tamsyn a sufficient cow. To his daughter Jone an annual rent charge of £5 to be received out of the "place" of St. Margretes now dissolved and being in the parish of Nettelden in the county of Harteford. She is to have this rent charge for [?]15 years beginning Michaelmas next, provided that she "gwyde hir selfe onestely and do well and so to be Rewled by Master Thomas Benteley of Dunstable and Robert Knight hir brother" who are testator's executors. Of the £5 mention above, 33s. 4d. is to be paid to the use of Sir John Dawnce knight during the said years, and Jone is to have £3 6s. 8d. to her own use, and should Jone die within the said years, the reversion of the annuity is to go to testator's son Robert Knight.
To dau. Jone a cow bullock of a year old and 20 pugges, a feather bed, 2 pair of sheets, 1 covering.
To his woman servant Anne 10s. to her marriage, and 4d. for every week since Michaelmas.
To Elene Gresbrocke £6 13s. 4d. and testator's "Gawbertyne", and the 42s. that she lent to him. To Thomas Gurney of Milbrocke 20s.. To Thomas Gambart a ewe and a lamb.
To dau. Tomasyn Bostocke 10 pugges and 6s. 8d.. To Robert Bostocke 6s. 8d.. To William Bostocke a year old cow bullock.
Residue of his goods to his executors his son Robert Knight and Master Thomas Bentley of Dunstable, the latter to have 20s..
Will His property in Tyngreff and Westonyng is to go to his son Robert Knight and his heirs for ever, to be held of the chief lord of the fee. Should Robert die without issue, then the lands to remain to testator's two daughters and their heirs. To Jone [?]Sleynner 15s..
He asks Master Thomas Benteley to be a good counsellor and ruler of son Robert Knight.
