To her sister Elzabeth Crote widow 20s. in money, all which sums are to be paid by testator's younger son John West tanner. Reciting that she has lent to her eldest son John Weste, mercer, £74, she gives him £14 of that sum in recompense for a close at Clopham which testator (by the last will of her late husband) should have bought for 20 marks for the same John, but which she was unable to purchase, as he well knows. Another £15 of the £74 he is to use for her burial and for her soul, i.e. to every priest saying or singing mass that day in Poulles church 6d., to every clerk singing at dirige or mass 2d., and 1d. to every other person present at her burial. Reciting that the highway between Eye Crofte and Bedford is not yet fully made up in length as her late husband requested in his last will and testament, testator desires John West, tanner, to make up the road as in his father's will, and in consideration of this, and of 30 bullocks left him in his father's will but not delivered, she remits all sums that John West the younger owes her, and in addition leaves him all moveable goods and chattels, jewels, household stuff, household implements, and all debts owing to her. Testator leaves him also 2 silver salts with silver covers, 2 pieces or cups of silver, a silver pot with a silver cover, a mazer with a silver gilt band, a silver and gilt nut with a silver and gilt cover, and 20 silver spoons.
