Scope and Content
Burial in the parish church yard of Eyworth; to the high altar for tithes forgot 12.; to the mother church of Lincoln 2d.; to the Sepulchre light, the upkeep of the bells, and the Rood light at Eyworth a bushel of barley each.
To support an obit in the parish church of Eyworth of the value of 2s. 8d. a year, the sum of 24s. to buy 2 milch beasts, which obit is to be for the souls of the testator, Pernell his wife and all Christians. The 2s. 8d. p.a. is to be distributed as follows: to the vicar for his mass, dirige and bede roll 8d.; a mass penny; a penny for wax; 2d. to the parish clerk; 4d. to the ringers; 16d. to the poor folks of the parish. Testator's wife is to have the keeping of the beasts for her lifetime, and on her death the beasts or their value to be handed to the vicar and church wardens of Eyworth.
To dau. Agnes 6 quarters of barley and a cow and his best gown. To his son John his best coat and best jerkin, a white doublet, the greatest pan. To John Saver/Saner a blue coat and a white coat. To Thomas Coyke his best doublet and a pair of hose. To his dau. Jone Clarke half a quarter of barley. To Edward Holdestocke a "howed" bullock, if he will be "orderyd by his grandam". To Thomas Saver/Saner a lamb. To his son's son John Lawrenc' a lamb. To William Byndell a peticot and half a quarter of barley. To Elyn' Clarke a ewe.
To be spent on his burial day 6s. 8d. and on his month's day 3s. 4d.. A priest is to say for him 5 masses in the church of Eyworth, for which he is to have 20d..

Should wife remarry or son John die, then he shall have a half part of every thing that remains after testator's will is fulfilled [sic].
