Scope and Content
His burial to be within the church yard of Harlyngton, and his mortuary according to the King's acts. To the high altar a bushel of wheat; to the mother church of Lincoln 4d.; "to the churche £3 6s. 8d. to by a cope that God may be honeryd withall"; 20s. to a priest to sing for the testator; to every godchild 4d..
To his wife Elzabeth £20 and also for 10 years the house and the land he bought of Robert Chelester.
[There is some confusion in this paragraph] To son Nicholas the house and land he bought of Robert Chelester at the end of the 10 years, to hold to him and his heirs for ever. In default of heirs then to Nicholas' brother Richard (testator's youngest son) and issue, in default to Richard's brother John and issue, in default to John's brother Robert and issue, in default to Robert's brother Thomas and issue, in default to Thomas' brother Richard and issue, in default to the next of the blood

To Thomas Whytlocke 4 horses (the sorrel bald horse; 2 horses testator bought of Knight; and a black colt with a star in his forehead) and 40s.. To Margaret Tuffenall a cow and a brown bullock. To Thomas Whytlocke testator's best gown and his doublet. To Thomas and Richard Whytlocke all wearing gear. To Agnes Tuffenall a cow and 13s. 4d.. To eldest son Richard Whytlocke 40s.. To son Robert the testator's copyholding in Gossele Grene with another copyholding called Sprygges, to enter on them at the hour of testator's death, Thomas to occupy the copyholdings for three years, paying the lord's rent and paying a mark a year to his brother Robert.
Sons Thomas and Richard are to have the setting and letting of the copyholdings in Gossle Grene to the use of Robert Whytlocke, and they are also to have the setting and letting of the copyholding in the Towne Ende to the use of John Whytlocke.
For his burial 40s., for his month's day 4 marks, for his year's day 26s. 8d..
He leaves 2 beasts to fund an obit "whell the worlde doth stande" and his wife Elzabeth is to have the guiding of the beasts as long as she remains in Harlington, otherwise this duty to go to the churchwardens.
Residue to his wife, she to be an executrix, and Richard Tuffenall to be executor, and he to have 6s. 8d..
