    Inland Revenue Succession Duty Form. An account of the succession to real property of John Cook of Steppingley, Beds, upon the death of Thomas Cook who died on the 8th Nov 1854 and under his will proved in PCC on 1st Jun 1855. Including: - Description of property and annual values... 'A close of sward ground containing 3r and 29p at Peaks End, Steppingley in John Cook's own occupation - rated at 20% - the average of the rates in the Parish being on about 2/3 of the new estimated rental. The adjoining land is rented by said John Cook at £-/20/6 per acre. There is also one piece of timber on the land valued about £-/10/-. The said Thomas Cook was not possessed of any other real estate nor of any leasehold property (annual value of £1/10/-). - Description of deductions (land tax at £-/-/9) and the net annual value of property. - Declaration by John Cook that this is a just and true account and that he was born on the 15th Jun 1815 and has a son Thomas who is the predecessor to whom the said property is derived. - Assessment of succession duty at £-/4/6.
