- Title[Photocopy] Copy of a conditional surrender, Manor of Biggleswade by the acceptance and hands of John Carrington and Henry Williams, two other customary tenants of the said Manor. Parties: (i) William Roberts of Biggleswade, Beds, farmer. (ii) George Herbert of Biggleswade, Merchant. Reciting: - (i) borrows £100 from (ii) with interest at 5% per year. (i) out of court conditionally surrenders (a) to the lord of the Manor to the use of (ii) as security for the repayment. - This surrender will be void if (i) repays the £100 with the said interest. Property: (a) Cottage or tenement with appurtenances at Shortmead Street, Biggleswade formerly in the tenure or occupation of Samuel Holden, late of Sarah Allen since of Thomas Albone & William Albone or one of them and now of the said William Roberts to which he was admitted tenant at a court held on the 28th April 1804 on the surrender of John Carrington and Thomas Carrington.
