Letter from Charles Crichton Stuart Benning of Dunstable, town clerk to Mr. T.Carr of the Old Sugar Loaf, Dunstable, victualler… 'At a meeting of the Trustees [of the Carts Charity] held on Friday last it was resolved that the lease of the Sugar Loaf be for 7 years as previously agreed but if desired the Trustees would give you the option of an extension of 3 years at a rental of £120 per annum. I shall be glad therefore to have your acceptance or otherwise.'
