    Copy will of William Marks of St. Albans, farmer who died on the 1st June 1905 and had his will proved on the 28th June 1905: - Appointing wife Eliza and three sons Thomas, Guildford and William as executors and guardians of my infant child. I give: - To wife: consumable stores and wearing apparel. I bequeath to wife a legacy of £300 and all interest of a leasehold nature in the house I shall reside at the time of death along with all furniture and household goods. Such shall be held by my sons upon trust that my wife shall enjoy and reside in the house. After her decease (or previously with her consent) trustees to sell the said house and use the money upon trusts stated below for my personal & real estate. I give and bequeath: - Two freehold houses at London Road known as the Limes to sons Thomas & Guildford. - Freehold shop in Ampthill that is now in his occupation to son William. - Remainder of personal & real estate to trustees upon trust to sell and use money to pay funeral expenses, invest in trusts and pay wife's legacy while she continues to maintain my daughter (including Lizzie Cox) until they marry or the death of my wife. - After this in trust to invest in four certain stocks and pay profits to daughters Mary Louisa, Lizzie, Nellie & Ethel. In the presence of A.H. Debenham of St.Albans, solicitor & W. Geo. Marshall his clerk.
