    Sales catalogue for 12 Freehold cottages and a plot of garden ground by direction of the trustees of the will of the late Thomas Goodman. Auctioned by Swaffield & Son on the 31st July 1912: - Lot 1at Brook End: 2 brick and slated cottages at Brook End, each containing 4 rooms (2 up and 2 down) as now in the occupation of Mrs. Jeffrey and Mr. E. Oakley as quarterly tenants, with timber and iron barns and closets to each, and good gardens (Note: the wood bench and post and wire fence are claimed by Mr. E. Oakley). Also a pair of brick plaster & thatch cottages, one containing 4 rooms and the other 5 rooms, as now let to Miss Fleckney and Mr. Edward Seagrave, as monthly tenants, with timber and pantile closet to each, the whole producing an annual rental of £17/10/-,. the landlady pays the rates. The property has a frontage of about 82ft. 6in. to Brook Lane, and is bounded on or towards the E by the property of Mr. James E. Goodman, and on or towards the S and W by that of his grace the Duke of Bedford.
