Bundle of correspondence relating to the proposed sale of Glebe Land to Fenny Stratford Rural District Council for the purposes of a reservoir. Including: - Letter from Rev Louis Jones of Little Brickhill Vicarage dated 16th Nov 1907 accepting £60 from the Fenny Stratford RDC for the glebe land subject to the consent of the Ecclesiastical Commissioners. - Reply accepting the above conditions from Thomas Best, clerk to Fenny Stratford RDC dated 12th Nov 1908. - Letter from the Ecclesiastical Commission dated 16th Nov 1908 suggesting that proceeding with this sale will depend on the Governors of Queen Anne's Bounty whom purchased glebe land in Little Brickhill in 1776 and did so with a view to purchase the land for the Little Brickhill Benefice. - Letter from the Bounty Office dated 23rd Nov 1908 replying to a letter of assistance from Rev. Louis Jones of Little Brickhill… 'In 1776 the Governor's of Queen Anne's Bounty acquired for this benefice an estate described in their estates register as:- 16 acres partly inclosed in the town and common fields of Little Brickhill. It is possible however that this particular land is now not in the possession of the benefice, as I see from a return of commons (inclosure awards) 1904, that the open and common fields in Little Brickhill were dealt with under an award dated 1798, and it may be that the 16 acres purchased by the governors were dealt with under that award. You can find out whether such was the case by enquiry of the Clerk of the Peace for the County.'
