    Draft will of John Dowdeswell late of Ampthill, Beds (formerly of Maulden, Beds), retired farmer and corn dealer. Appoint: Robert Michael White of Ampthill, solicitor and school board clerk; Charles Brightman of Maulden, farmer and William John Crisp of Ampthill, farmer executors and trustees. Give and bequeath: Clothing and bed linen to Nephew Frank Kingston. Jewellery to Great Nephews John Kingston and Frank Kingston. 3 cottages situate in Dunstable Street, Ampthill now in the occupation of John Clark Walter Blois Whitbread and Wing Arnold and the share and interest of 3 cottages situate in George Street, Maulden now in the occupation Of Samuel Smith and Ann Hole to Niece Mary Caroline James. Residue of all real and personal estate unto the said trustees in trust that they sell and convert the estate into money and pay the following legacies free of legacy duty: - 30 each to trustees. - 200 to housekeeper Martha Millard - 200 to niece Mary Caroline James - 200 to each of the children or child of MCJ - 200 to each of the children or child of nephew Frank Kingston. - 100 each to cousins Mary Ann Brightman and Frederick Brightman. - 100 to cousin Mary Ann Smith - 300 to Charlotte Trebilcock the daughter of my late wife's brother Thomas Croxford. - 100 to each of the children of Henry King son of my late wife's sister Charlotte King - 40 to Joseph Sinfield of Maulden 4000 to trustees in trust to invest and pay the income to arise to Emma wife of nephew Frank Kingston. - After her death upon trust to pay the income to FK. - After their death upon trust to pay the income to their children who have attained age of 21. Trustees shall divide income from sale of real and personal estate into ten equal parts and pay the sums to the following people: Niece Mary Caroline James; cousin Mary Ann Smith; children of late wife's sister Charlotte King - Emma Charlotte King and Lydia King; children of my late wife's sister Mary Young - Charlotte Elizabeth Northwood, Sarah Kirby, Robert Joshua Young and Charles Young; remaining equally to Mabel Young and Arthur Young the children of my wife's nephew Richard Young.
