Payne explaining difficulties of getting the purchase money for the house he is trying to sell and setting out how he will resolve the situation. (d) 30 Dec 1911: Letter from Horace Lionel Harvey, 33 Idmiston Road, Stratford to G. Payne highlighting that the efforts to purchase the Bell Hotel has been a failure since raising the amount has proved impossible. (e) 2 Jan 1912: Letter from G.Payne to the Welch Ale Brewery Ltd, 531 Kings Road, Chelsea highlighting that the expense of rent and license for the Bell Hotel seems to be serving as a deterrent to potential buyers.
