    Office Copy Affidavit of John Thomas Green issued by Robins, Burges, Hay, Waters & Lucas of 9 Lincoln's Inn in Chancery action 1886 G 1893: - memorandum of Agreement of 2 Apr 1879 [see HN10/277/Hammond1]; - Mary Gilbert in fact only advanced 290 and not the 320 stated in the agreement; - Mary Gilbert died on 27 Jul 1879; - John Thomas Green paid all mortgage monies and interest due to Mary Gilbert to her executor William Henry Smith on 10 Nov 1879 and he delivered the deeds for 24-26 [sic?] Belmore Street and 1-7 Milton Place to Green as security; - Green made a further advance of 100 to Ann Hammond on 25 May 1880 secured on the properties; - Green was owed on mortgage 290 principal with 111/9/9 interest less tax to 21 Feb 1887 and 100 further advance plus interest of 32/16/9 less tax to same date - a total of 534/6/6; - Green had received rents on the properties from the managing agent Berry Christian amounting to 723/15/11 and from this Green had paid 346/18/2 ground rent to the ground landlords and insurance premiums leaving a balance of 376/17/9; - 157/8/9 remained owing to Green on deduction of the balance of 376/17/9 rent from the sum owed of 534/6/6. Against this he had received 178/7/3 paid in pursuance of HN10/277/Hammond13; - witnessed by David Thomas Willis of Leighton Buzzard
