Letter from Berry Christian at 384 Commercial Road East, London to John Thomas Green: - Orlebar's Mortgage "I have by this post acted upon your advice and acknowledged the receipt of Mr.Gearn's Cheque for 3:3:0:"; - Wandsworth "It is not so very long ago that I saw Messrs Surr, Gribble & Bunton and I afterwards went to Messrs Pike, Merryman & Pike from whom I gathered that my best course would be to seek an interview with Messrs Waring & Nicholson, the Surveyors to the Ground landlords, which was accordingly done and a Memo made in their books to apply to me if the requisite reparations were not to their satisfaction; hence my surprise at receiving your letter of yesterday's date. I will, however, now see Messrs Surr & Co again and I enclose a copy of the work that Mr.Featherstone has in hand together with a copy of his invoice for repairs to 26 Belmore Street that you may Know how matters are progressing. the long frost caused great delay, but as I was satisfying the Surveyors I certainly did not look for murmurings from any other quarter. I thank you for the two copies"
