Letter from George Savage at 38 Campsbourne Road, Hornsey [Middlesex] to Frederic Tanqueray: - "In reply to your letter of the 18th instructed by Mr.Meager I must say it is very uncalled for, although I admit it is some what explained by following events. I received a letter last night addresses OHMS on opening I found the Letter I posted on the 8th Nov last to My Deceased Brother's Widow in reply to one I had recd from Mr.Alfred White who is appointed My Brother's Executor marked as Unclaimed also as Advertised in December though it was properly and fully addressed (I only regret now I did not address it to Mr.Alfred White) who in his letter to me asked me to transmit the money to him to the First National Bank of Evansville. I used every endeavour to find out Agent for said Bank in London but could not find one. I found that I could transmit to the Bank of Indianapolis through Melville & Evans of Lombard St. I at once wrote to My Brother's Widow the above particulars asking for Mr.White to write me at once what course to adopt. I cannot account for the said letter being returned I took (fortunately) the precaution to put in my full address. I not only received that but also one I wrote to My Brother on the 17th March last it being the 29th anniversary of his leaving Home. I will at once write the whole and full particulars to Mr.White and on receipt of his reply will conform to his wishes at once. Leaving Mr.Meager to take his own course. Had he informed me of the correspondence you say he has shown you I consider it would more become him. I suppose Messrs Green have declined to go on with his dirty work so he has thought well to see a fresh Solicitor.
