- TitleLetter from H.& J.E.Underhill & Lawrence, solicitors of 24 Darlington Street, Wolverhampton [Staffordshire] to John Britten at Heath & Reach: - "We have seen our client upon your letter of the 18th inst. He contends that the whole consideration of the Agreement on your part has quite failed and that he is absolutely entitled to a return of his 50 inasmuch as he has never touched any of the mine, none of it being fir for his use. The only deductions he can allow would be 2 for compensation to tenant, 5/14/2 in respect of 38 tons 4 cwt of stone at 3/- a ton and 1 to settle any dispute with respect to the levelling. The total of these credits amounts to 8/14/2 which deducted from the 50 leaves a balance due from you of 41/5/10 which kindly let us have forthwith. Without prejudice"
