    Copies of Bedford Times and Bedford Mercury giving statement of accounts of gaol and the various reports on it, including that of the Sub-Committee on the subject of the Chapel roof, 20 Oct 1855 Draft general report of Visiting Justices, 1855 and 1856 Order by the Visiting Justices that the Clerk of the Peace should defend them in action for deby brought against them by Wm Jones, coal merchant, in the County Court, 6 Jan 1855. With related papers including orders for extra fuel for the Governor's and Warden's houses, due to dampness, 9 Dec 1850-1852, [Case was withdrawn] Counsels opinion as to breach of Contract by Thos Smith and Walt Parker, with related correspondence regarding the new prison buildings and especially the roof to the Prison Chapel (said to be due to a deficiency in its execution and quantity of materials used by them), Aug to Dec 1855 With report on roof by Lewis Cubitt. Also including a list of sundry fittings done at the County Gaol by Walt Parker (total-918 7s 7d) 1849, and copy thanks to surveyor and contractor regarding the work on the prison buildings, 9 Apr 1850
