    - Particulars, plans and conditions of sale of twenty four building sites, on the east of the gaol, and abutting up to the gaol wall, and two sites in Water Lane (the property of the Duke of Bedford), to be sold on 15 April 1842 - Particulars, plans and conditions of sale of a house on Offa Street [The Broadway] opposite St Peter's Green, in the occupation of Thomas Small, plumber and glazier, and 11 plots of building ground in Offa Street-starting close to the NE corner of the penitentiary, 27 May 1841. with note on the back of the purchase of a piece of land immediately adjoining the penitentiary by the County Treasurer, from the Duke of Bedford, 29 Sept 1841 - Letters from various people offering to sell their land and buildings adjoining the gaol (at the back of the almshouses): E Eagles 10 Feb 1848, Edw Master 14 Feb 1848, Thos Davies 14 Feb 1848, Sharman and Turnley (on behalf of Jas Burr) 22 Feb 1848 - List of prices at which the ground on the E side of the prison is offered for sale-total 3287 8s 9d [1848] - Copy of letter from Theed Pearse to the Rev J Bouwens [Rector of St Mary's] saying that a gaol on a new site is suggested and asking for what price per acre he would sell his Rectory allotment on Ampthill Road, nearest to Bedford and nearly opposite the asylum 10 Feb 1848 - Letter from Sir Chas G Payne, Blunham, opposing the levying of the principal sum necessary for building the new gaol on the owners of real property, 20 July 1848 [for Duke of Bedford's letter see QGR1/19/1] - Letter sent on behalf of Sir Geo Grey [Secretary of State] approving the plans of alterations to the prisons but suggesting the erection of an entirely new prison, 13 March 1848 - Application for pension by the head turnkey, Wm Skinner, as the probability that he will not be 'reinstated in a situation under the New System' 26 June 1848 [For later letter see QGR1/19/1] - Medical report on the health of Mr Tregenza, Governor of the Gaol, by Isaac Hurst, 27 June 1848 - Resignation of John Tregenza from his post at the Gaol, 22 June 1848 - Letter from Mr Tregenza offering to remain in post a little longer, 13 Oct 1848 - Various bills from Theed Pearse to the Justices for legal work in connection with the new work at the Gaol, and the loan, 1848-9 with receipts for the sums concerned - Bond for performance of contract.
