B.N. Cubbington later Mrs. Gouch, riding a motor cycle. Taken in St. Augustine's Road. "I think I was the first woman to ride a motor bike in Bedford". This was a twin cylinder Douglas, the passenger was Mrs. Cantlebury. [It seems likely this was in fact Beatrice Mabel Covington, daughter of tobacconist William Henry Covington, who married John Gooch in 1914]
