Sharnbrook Division Police group with Inspector in centre. The Inspector is John Wilfred Bliss, in charge of the Sharnbrook Division from February 1914 until his retirment in February 1920. Some of the men are wearing their First World War medals, so this photograph is datable to 1919/1920. See Beds Times of 3 July 1931 p.16 for Bliss's obituary. (Cf Q.E.V. 20 photograph dated 1920.)
