- TitleSurvey of Brogborough Park in Lidlington and Ridgmont: (a) parcel of impaled ground called Brogborough Park of 641a 3r 8p bounded by: Lidlington common fields to E; Ridgmont common fields to W; in occupation of [blank] Johnson, esquire; (b) old and decayed chief lodge 40ft long by 20ft wide with garden plot; bounded by Brogborough Park to N; timber building containing hall, parlour, buttery, kitchen and two other rooms downstairs and four chambers upstairs; with small stable and barn; the site containing 1.5 acres; (c) a small lodge for the underkeeper of four rooms with a small barn and lying on S side of Brogborough Park, containing one rood; "old and decayed and very much out of repair"; (d) 228 fallow deer of several sorts in the Park; (e) no timber in the Park besides timber marked out for use of the navy; (f) no present stock of conies; (g) 252a lay in parish of Ridgmont and 389a 3r in parish of Lidlington; 241 acres were good pasture; (h) no franchise claimed by present keeper beyond the pale of the Park, nor any commonage; (i) Thomas, Earl of Elgin claimed the Park from letters patent of James I of 18 Feb 1613 to Edward Bruce, Sir William Cavendish, late Earl of Devon and Thomas, Lord Bruce, now Earl of Elgin and from letters patent of 14 Feb 1640 from Charles I to Earl of Bedford etc. in trust for Robert, Lord Bruce; (j) Johnson, the underkeeper, in possession of the Park; (k) additional survey of timber in Jan 1649 [1650] claimed by the Navy Commissioners found 306 trees marked for navy use Surveyed by Thomas Fowle, John Ward and S.Fine, examined by William Webb
