Title
John James Chandler, born Brixton 1886, died Netley Abbey on 27 March 1976. Portrait photograph of him in uniform of the 5th Bedfords with medal ribbons for the DCM and MM. [The medals are in the regimental collection at Luton Museum]. He was invalided out of the service after 21 years, not known exactly when. Moved to Netley in the 1920s where he was employed as NAAFI Manager at the Royal Victoria Hospital, and later at Thorney Island, W Sussex. During WW2 he was employed at the Folland Aircraft Factory at Hamble near Southampton, until retirement.
