Ground plan of the Workhouse buildings showing proposed alterations to the drainage system, including line of the proposed new sewers, amendments to existing sewers, alterations to the baths, and surface water drains. The plan was drawn in March 1895 and approved by the Local Government Board on the 15 May 1895, see the Minutes of the Board of Guardians for 14 March and 23 May 1895 respectively, Ref: PUAM12. [Surveyor: Oliver Kimber, Architect and Surveyor to the Ampthill Poor Law Union and Rural Sanitary Authority.] The workhouse was renamed St. George's Hospital in 1942, and later became The Cedars Old Peoples Home administered by Bedfordshire County Council.
