Particulars of settlement: Sarah Barnes and children are widow and children of William Barnes, journeyman carpenter, died at Luton, 7 Sept 1866. William Barnes in July 1842 was apprenticed to Charles Ireson, then of St. Sepulchre's, Northampton, carpenter and builder since ded. and served for 6 years and resided at St. Sepulchre's Northampton. No other settlement. Now chargeable to the Common Fund of the Union 22 July 1867 Attached: (ro) 18 July 1867 Enclosed: Apprenticeship indenture used as evidence in the above case. William Barnes jnr, 16yrs old, one of the sons of Wm. Barnes, Fenny Stratford, Bucks. draper to CharlesIreson, Balk St. St. Sepulchre, Northampton, as joiner and carpenter. Wm. Barnes snr. to provide all board,lodging, tools and medical attendance and clothing. Term: until 21 yrs. Wages: 1s per week, 1st yr. rising1s per year.
