  • Title
Letter to the Clerk of Ampthill Union from Job Ordidge, Short Heath, Wolverhampton. Recd. letter of 14th, very surprised. Will not give weekly sum, but pocket money, as boys will be a loss rather than a profit for some time. Idea of giving an indoor apprentice not less than 1/4 of a journeyman's wages quite out of the question. Already has to provide food, clothing and lodging. Will have to provide everything in case of illness.
