Scope and Content
1/1 - 7 are manuscript copies of letters; the remainder are `press' copies. All the letter books have indexes of addresses except 1/1, 1/3 - 6. A note in the handwriting of F.G. Emmison (Clerk of Records 1924-1938) on the original catalogue states that only a few samples of the more recent letter-books were preserved.
[Letter book formerly catalogued as 1/9 was found to be an Elstow School Board letter book and has been re-catalogued as SB15/14. [The letter books catalogued as PUBC1/15 and 1/17 were found to be Bedford Rural District Council letter books and have been recatalogued as RDBC1/1-2]
