    Indenture of covenant to levy a fine Parties (i) Richard Reade of Henlow, clerk, and his wife Penelope (ii) Matthew Hobbes of Hitchin (Herts.), draper Recitals: none Operative part Witnesses that (i), to 'barr and cutt' all contingent entails and remainders of the land below and in consideration that (ii) has on the same date assured and conveyed to (i) and his heirs a messuage and certain freehold land in Henlow and copyhold land in the same parish held of the manors of Henlow Lanthony and Henlow parcel of Warden and also in consideration of a sum of current English money paid to (i) by (ii), has covenanted to levy a fine, before the end of the next Trinity term, of: (a) capital messuage, tenement or inn commonly called the White Swan in Shefford now in the occupation of Edmond Harris or of his assigns (b) messuage, cottage or tenement with appurtenances in Shefford next [to] (a) and in the occupation of William Rawlings or his assigns (c) toft and close or pightle of meadow and pasture lying in or near Shefford between the land of William Barber on the one side and the river which runs on the 'north west part' of Shefford on the other side and now being in the occupation of EH or his assigns (d) ten roods of meadow with appurtenances in Southwater meade and Stony Dole meade now in the occupation of the said EH or his assigns (e) acre of arable land with appurtenances in a field called 'every yeares' field now or late being in the occupation of one Richard Hill or his assigns All which premises are in Shefford and Campton als. Camelton ...to be levied by the name of one messuage, one cottage, one toft , three acres of land, two acres of pasture and five acres of meadow with the appurtenances in Shefford and Campton; and to be and inure to the use of (ii) in fee.
