Cow Bridge, Elstow, is newly repaired by inhabitants. We whose names are here subscribed Justices of the Peace for the County of Bedford Doe hereby certify that we have viewed a certaine Bridge commonly called Cow Bridge in the parish of Elstow in the said County in the highway there leading from the Towne of Bedford in the said County to the Towne of Ampthill in the same County And upon such our view we doe further certify that the same Bridge is in good repaire And that the Inhabitants of Elstow aforesaid have beene at greate charge in the repairing thereof very lately (Considering the smalnes of the said Bridge) Witnes our hands this twelfth day of July Anno dni 1686 W Foster Tho Christie
