    Deposition:Edmund Green, Husborn Crawley, woollen draper. Lost piece of shalloon ; found 13 yds. with Jn.Birdwell. Thomas Tayler, Woburn. Jn.Joanes lay at his house; offered to sell him material. John Birdwell, Cranfield, rat catcher. His wife bought 13 yds shalloon of Jn.Joanes, who had more stuff. Marrian, w. of Jn.Birdwell. As above. The Examinacon of John Joanes & c This examinant saith that hee truct with a Barkesheire man for lace, for the stuffe, but would say nothing else untill hee came before my Lord, St John Thomson The informacon of Edmund Greene of Husborne Crawley in the County of Bedford Woollendraper, taken upon oath the 17th day of March Anno dni 1683 before St John Thomson Esqr one of his Majesties Justices of the peace for the said County This informant saith that hee lost a peece of shulloone the 12th day of March out of his shopp in Woburne in the said County and that hee did finde about 13 yards of it in the custody of John Birdwell of Cranfield in the said County Rat-catcher and further saith not, Edmund Greene The informacon of Thomas Tayler of Woburne in the County aforesaid labourer taken upon oath the day and yeare aforesaid before St John Thomson Esqr one of his Majesties Justices of the peace for the said County This informant saith that one John Joanes lay at his house 8 or 10 daies, and that the said Joanes proffered to sell him some stuffe on the 12th or 13th day of March aforesaid but which of them daies he cannot possitively say, and further saith not The mark of Thomas Tayler The informacon of John Birdwell of Cranfield in the County aforesaid Rat-catcher taken upon oath the day and yeare aforesaid before St John Thomson Esqr one of his Majesties Justices of the peace for the said County This informant saith that his wife bought 13 yardes of shulloone of one John Joanes a stranger at Woburne the 13th of March aforesaid, and that his wife borrowed 10s of John Buskyns wife of Woburne aforesaid, towardes the payment of it, and that it cost her 2s a yard, and this informant further saith that the said Joanes had some more stuffe, and further saith not, The marke of John Birdwell The informacon of Marrian Birdwell wife of the aforesaid John Birdwell taken upon oath the day and yeare aforesaid before St John Thomson Esqr one of his Majesties Justices of the peace for the said County, This informant saith that she bought 13 yardes of Shulloone of one John Joanes a stranger at Woburne the 13th of March aforesaid, and that she borrowed 10s of John Buskyns wife of Woburne aforesaid towardes the payment of it, and that it cost her 2s a yard, and alsoe saith that the said Joanes had some more stuffe, and further saith not, The mark of Marrian Birdwell
