    Lewis Paeke, Clapham, blacksmith. Ric.Butler bought file, chisel, hammer and punch, saying they were for making toys. The Informacon of Lewis Paeke of Clapham in the said County of Bedford Blacksmith taken upon Oath the 28th day of January 1683 before Thomas Christie Esqr one of his Majesties Justices of the peace for the said County This Informant saith that on or about this day 3 weeks he sold to Mr Richard Butler now a Prisoner in the County Gaole a file a chizill a hammer & a punch for 1s 6d who told this Informant that they were to doe noe hurt but that he lived on the further side of Northtonsheire & had occasion to use such things in the making of certaine toyes & pretending great acquaintance about Wellingborough known to this Informant amongst whom the said Butler told this Informant of one Christopher Sheppard a farrier who had made a great cure for him and recovered one of is horses eyes and also that he had often passed by Clapham Tho Christie Lewis Paek
