    John Smith, Wardon, lab. Bought 2 horses of Th.Tapp; one, later claimed by Jn. Waite, he sold to Wm.Deere; the other was claimed by R. Dunckley. The Informacon of John Smith of Wardon in the County of Bedford labourer taken upon oath the xxvjth day of February 1683/4 before Thomas Christie Esqr one of his Majesties Justices of the peace for the County aforesaid This Informant saith that on or about Saturday was a fortnight he bought a Sorrell Guelding of one Thomas Tapp or Topp now a Prisoner in the County Gaole for 32s which horse this Informant since sold to one Wm Deere of Broome & was since claimed & fetched away from him by one wayte of Yardley in Northtonshire who affirmed the said Guelding was then lately before stollen from him And this Informant further saith that On Saturday was senight he bought another horse (vizt) a bay Guelding of the said Tapp for 3li 10s which Guelding was claymed & fetched out of his Custody on Saturday last by one Dunckley of Weston in Northtonshire who affirmed that the said Guelding was then lately before stollen out of his pasture grounds.
