    John Whitfield, Wardon, gent. 1684 Hearing the horse was reported as lost he informed the crier at Bedford fair, and Ric.Palmer came to claim it. The Information of John Whitfeild of Warden in the County of Bedford gent taken upon oath the 23th day of February 1683 before Thomas Christie Esqr one of his Majesties Justices of the Peace for the County aforesd This Informant saith that this day sevennight he bought a black stoned horse with a Starr on his forhead blind of his neare eye & defective of his other of one Thomas Tapp of Coventry for three pounds and that this horse was this day taken from him by one Palmer of Abbington in the County of Northton who affirmed the said horse was stolen from him on Wednesday was sevennight last And this Informant further saith that on Tuesday last being Bedford faire day his son being at the faire he heard that such a horse was cryed at the faire as he told this Informant whereupon on Thursday he came over to Bedford to the Cryer & acquainted him that he had a horse with such like marks upon the notice whereof the said Palmer came over to claime the said horse as this Informant beleiv's Tho Christie John Whitfeild
