    John Clerke, Potsgrove, yeo. 3 cows were stolen from his pasture. He heard that Jn.Green had sold them in Leighton market. The Informacon of John Clerke of Potsgrave in the County of Bedford yeoman taken upon oath before Sr Francis Wingate Knt one of his Majesties Justices of the peace for the County of Bedford aforesaid the twentyeth day of November Anno dni 1683 This Infort sayth that last night he had feloniously taken out of his pasture at Potsgrave aforesaid three Cowes and comeing this day to Laighton Markett heard that his said Cowes were sold in the Markett by one John Greene of Madstone in the County of Kent, that two of them were sold & drove away out of towne, and that the third was sold to one Robert Willison of Newton in com [county] Bucks who had not paid the said John Green for her before he was taken upon suspition of stealing them, soe that he this Informt had that Cow againe: And further sayth not.
