    Deposition: Henery Killworth, Northill, 25 May 1681. Suspects Mary Read of stealing sugar, tobacco and money from his shop. The Examinacon of Henery Killworth of Northill in the County of Bedd taken the 25th day of May Anno dni 1681 before Samuel Bedford Esqr one of his Majesties Justices of the Peace for the County of Bedd. Sayth that hee hath severall tymes lost parcells of sugar out of his shop, particularly about a weeke after last Easter, hee had stollen from him betweene forty & fifty pound of sugar, and doth beleeve hee hath lost severall tymes tobaccoe in the leafe, and that hee lost on Friday last hee had taken out of his Drawer in his shop one five shilling peece, & about five shillings in other money. And that hee doth suspect Mary the wife of Thomas Read of Northill aforesaid, to have stollen the same, shee haveing sold severall parcells of sugar & tobaccoe, to neighbours att a cheaper rate, and can give noe account of whom she bought them.
