    Deposition:Nicholas Collup. Clifton, lab. Suspects Oliver Feild of stealing grain. Anne, w. of Henery Cooke, Clifton, lab. Saw O.F. coming from direction of H.R.'s yard at 3a.m. with sack under his arm. The examination of Nicholas Collup of Clifton in the County of Bedd Laborer taken before Samuel Bedford Esqr one of his Majesties Justices of the Peace for the County of Bedd the first day of January Anno dni 1680 Sayth that hee threshed the grayne both barley & Messlelin that Henery Richardson was robbd of on Thursday night being the three & twentieth day of December last, and that when Oliver Feilds house was searched, that Messlelyn that was found in his house, hee beleeves to bee the same that his Master Richardson, lost out of his barne & the reason that Induces his beleefe was, bec' hee thresht the Misslelyn upon a floore where barley had beeme thresht, which causd it to have a sprinkling of barley in it, which the said Messlin had that was found in the said Oliver Feilds house. The examination of Anne the wife of Henery Cooke of Clifton aforesd Laborer taken before the sd Samuel Bedford Esqr the day & yeare abovesd. Sayth she haveing occasion to bee upp in hir house on Thursday night, that Henery Richardson was robbd of grayne out of his barne, she saw Oliver Feild about three of the Clocke in the morneing Comeing by hir house which joynes to his yard with a sacke under his Arme, which shee beleeves had grayne in it, Hee came from that way, where Henery Richardson lives. And that she heard him as she beleeves not long before walking upp & downe in his yard. And further sayth not. S Bedford
