    Deposition:Oliver Feild, Clifton, lab. 5 January 1681. Was at alehouse the night Hen.Richardson's grain was stolen. Grain found at O.F.'s house was given his wife by w. of Th.Fage. The examination of Oliver Feild of Clifton in the County of Bedd Laborer taken before Samuel Bedford Esqr one of his Majesties Justices of the Peace for the County of Bedd the fifth day of January Anno dni 1680. Sayth that on Thursday night being the 23th of December last in which night Henery Richardson of Clifton sayth hee had stollen out of his barne about three bushells & a halfe of barley & about one bushell & halfe of Misslelyn & two sacks. Hee the said Oliver Feild sayth that neither hee nor his wife were att home, but from three of the Clocke in the afternoone till about two in the morneing, hee was att an Alehouse in Stanford which one Willm Miles keepeth And that there was with him Samuel Simpson of Langford, Thomas Jorden of Clifton, & John Greene of Stanford, and that hee came away about two of the Clocke in the morneing, & that his wife brought him a bag with neare halfe a bushell of barley, which she sayes the wife of Thomas Fage of Stanford gave her, which the said Oliver Feild brought then home with him, & that the barley which was found in his house upon search was given his wife by the said Goodye Fage And that the Messlelyn found in his house was alsoe given his wife by the said Goodye Fage.
