Assignment of Mortgage (See X916/4/5 for related bond) Parties: (i) Ann Brooks of Clophill, Beds, widow & Ann Brooks of the same, spinster (executors of the will of Thomas Brooks, late of Clophill, auctioneer). (ii) George Goodship late of Beadlow, Clophill, Beds but now of Campton, Beds, yeoman. (iii) Thomas Yoxen the younger of Northill, Beds, shopkeeper. Reciting: - X916/4/2 - X916/4/3 - Thomas Brooks has since died and his will dated 4th Feb 1801 was duly proven in the archdeaconry court of Bedford. - £150 is still owed to Thomas Brooks although all interest on the last recited mortgage has been paid. Operative: - Mortgage from (ii) to (iii) for £250 and interest at 5% (£150 being used to pay (i) and thereby discharge (ii) from the last recited mortgage). - (i) transfers (a-d) to (iii) to act as security for repayment by (ii). Property: (a-d) See X916/4/2. Habendum: - Unto (iii) for the residue of the term of 500 years subject to the usual mortgage provisos for redemption. - Signed with the seals of (i), (ii) & (iii). - Witnessed by Joshua Malden, Law.
