    Deposition: Joseph Wethered. 22 May 1678. C.T. struck J.W. with the whip. The Informacion of Joseph Wethered taken upon Oath before me Thomas Hillersdon Esq one of his Majestyes Justices of the peace for this County of Bedford the 22th of May 1678 This Informant sayth That my kinsman Jo: Wethered & William Dearmor overtooke Charles Taylor & one White with the widdow Rands and Frances Tomes John Wetheredd having a whipp gave him a lash to putt him out of the way & Charles Taylor upon that pulled the sayd John Wethered from off his horse getting awaye William Dearmer went to cach him, Charles Taylor takes the whipp out of his hand and strikes him with the great end of it, and when William Dearmer brought the horse to the sayd John Wethered he found him almost dead and further sayth not Taken before me the day and year above written Joseph Wethered T Hillersdon
