Title
Deposition: Margaret Rogers.
Gave birth to male child born dead and buried it under straw in the malt house. Next day she confessed to midwife and her dame. JohnScarrborow, her brother-in-law, begat the child. The Examination of Margarett Rogers taken before Thomas Paley Gentl one of the Coroners of our Sovraigne Lord the King for the said County of Bedd the xxviiith day of Aprill ao RR Caroli scdi xxix. This Examinant saieth that on Wednesday last about sunsetting shee was delivered of a Male child no bodie being with her. Shee saieth that the Child was borne dead and that shee did hide it under some straw in the Malt-house, And the next day being Thursday, upon the search of the Midwife shee confessed to the sd Midwife and her Dame, that shee had a Child, and then fetcht it to them. And further shee saieth that John Scarrborow of Malden in the sd county did begett the Child. And that the said John Scarrborow was her brother in law And further shee saieth not. Tho: Paley. Coroner
