    Deposition: Elizabeth Wells. 28 April 1677. Suspected Margaret Rogers her servant to be pregnant, but she denied it. After the child was born she found M.R. ill, and had her examined by a midwife. M.R. confessed, and fetched the dead child. The Informacon of Elizabeth Wells taken before Thomas Paley gentl one of the Coroners of our Sovraigne Lord the King for the County of Bedd the Eight and Twentieth day of Aprill Ao R.R. Caroli scdi xxix. This Informt saieth that shee did vehemently suspect Margaret Rogers her servant to bee with child a Month or two before her delivery, and often questioned her about it, but shee allwaies denied it. And shee further saieth, that on Wednesday night after the child was born: finding the said Margaret very ill and swounding, shee questioned her againe, but shee still denied it. And further shee saieth that on Thursday shee sent for a midwife, which midwife did search her, and upon search, shee confest it, and fetcht the dead child to them, so that they both saw it.
