Title
Deposition: John Allen, Chalgrave, yeoman,
Saw Thomas Morgan in Chalgrave on Thurs. before Whitsun. The Informacon of John Allen of the parish of Chalgrave in the County of Bedford aforesaid yeoman taken upon Oath before me Sr John Duncombe Knt one of his Maties Justices of the peace for the said County of Bedford the 15th day of June Anno Dni 1677 This Informt sayth that he saw Thomas Morgan in Winckfeild feild in the parish of Chalgrave on the thursday before Whitsontide last among the Corne out of any Path or Roade about eight of the clocke at night, and that upon the appearance of this Informt the said Thomas Morgan did sitt downe in the greene Corne and rose not up againe till he this Informt was past him halfe a lands length, And that afterwards the said Thomas Morgan went downe the lands, but whether this Informt knowes not; And this Informt sayth that he very well knew him to be Thomas Morgan, for that they were neighbours children, although he was about an hundred yards from him when he saw him: And further this Informt sayth not.
