Deposition: Joane Bird. 15 June 1675. William Sperrie told her that Sam. Leaper had beaten him and that he should carry his blows to his grave. Simon Sperrie. As above. Edmond Hare. Saw Sam. Leaper beat, throw down and punch William Sperrie. The Informacon of Joane Bird taken before Mr Thomas Paley coroner 15th day of June 1675 The said Joane Bird saieth that on Monday morning Willm Sperrie told her (being full of payne) that Samuell Leaper had beaten him, and that hee should carry his blowes to his grave Hee told Simon Sperrie the same words then and at other tymes. The informacon of Edmond Hare taken before the same coroner the 15th of June 1675 This infomt saieth that on Friday last hee being in the field with Willm Sperrie, Samuell Leaper came to the said Willm Sperrie, and beate him with a small sticke till hee brake it, afterwards threw him downe and did punch him with the end of his greate staffe, and when hee arose hee strucke him over the head with it, which made the said Willm Sperrie cry And further hee knoweth not.
