    Deposition: Sara, wife of John Simson, Maulden, victualler. Was in her house with John Taylor, a neighbour's child aged 8 years, when she heard a shot, and J.T. fell down beside her. Found her son Silvanus, aged 8, in the yard, crying. S. said 'indeed mother and I did nott know the gun was charged.' Libertas honor de Ampthill in com Bedd The Informacon of Sara the wife of John Simson of Malden in the Countie of Bedford victualler taken uppon oath the 13th day of July Ao Dm 1672 before Charles Dymok gent Coron of the said Libertie Shee this informant sayth That on Wednesday the tenth day of July instant shee being in her owne house att Malden & John Taylor (a neighbours child of about eight yeares of age) standing by her in the house, shee on a suddaine heard a gun goe of, which filled the house with smoke, & she said John Taylor was fallen downe by her on the ground, And shee this informant presently took him upp who cryed out & looked very pale, and shee this informant crying out there presently came in divers women who shee thinkes carried the said John Taylor home to his fathers house and shee this informant going out into the yard found her sonne Silvanus Sinson a child of about eight years of age crying and said indeed mother I did nott know the gun was charged and further she cannot depose Charles Dytnoke The mark of Sara Simson
