    Depositions: John Appleyard. Shelf, Halifax. Clothier. 13 June 1670. The horse taken from JohnKeye is his, stolen when his stable was broken open. The information of John Appleyeard of Shelfe in the parish of Hollyfax in the county of Yorks clothier, taken before Fra. Wingate Esq. JP. On the 13th June, 1670. Who saith that on the 17th of Aprill last past in the night time he had his stable broken open, and had feloniously taken out of the same a darke griseld rond Gelding with a gray face, between 14 & 15 hand high, and Gelding with a gray face, between 14 & 15 hand high, and five yeares of age; And being informed that such a horse was taken in the hands of one Jn Keys late of Holbeck in the parish of Leeds, Yorks., and that the sd. Jn Keys was committed to His Majesty's Gaole at Bedford upon suspition of stealeing the sd. horse; this informant thereupon comeing up to see the sd. horse sayth that it is his horse which he had soe lost out of his stable. and further this Informant deposeth not.
