At Easter Vestry, town offered to take Sarah Mosse back from Thomas Willimott & wife and put her to John Crane of Houghton Conquest, Thomas'wife repaying 50s.. Eliz. asked Mr. Hackett to produce Sarah Mosse, but he refused, for fear that E.wife should knock her on head.
The information of Jacob Crocker of Houghton Conquest in the county aforesaid, cordwainer, taken in open sessions the 21 April 1669:
This informant saith that upon Easter Munday last Mr. Hackett and most of the towne of Houghton Conquest aforesd. that were present at a meeting at John Dennisons in the sd. towne did offer to take Sarah Mosse an apprentice to Thomas Willimott of Houghton Conquest aforesaid from the sd. Thomas wife in case he would repay to the said inhabitants the summe of fifty shillings & putt her to John Crane of the same towne who was then alsoe there present and the sd. inhabitants to give the sd. John Crane the summe of fifty shillings more with the sd. Sarah. And this informant further saith That Eliz. Willimott the wife of the said Thomas Willimott did then desire the sd. Mr. Hackett to produce the sd. Sarah and he then replyed that he dared not to produce her for feare she the sd. Elizabeth should knock her on head And further saith not. Jacob Crocker.
