    Richard Gwynn, Houghton Conquest, tailor,1669. Sarah Mosse well provided for by Thomas & Elizabeth his wife; has heard her' often tymes merry & singinge when her dame hath been abroad'. Has heard Goodwife Moss, mother-in-law of Sarah Mosse wish that Sarah might drown herself so that Goodwife Willimott might suffer. John Neale of Houghton Conqest told him that Sarah Mosse was safe and well provided for a week last Saturday. The Information of Richard Gwin of Houghton Conquest in the County aforesd. tailor taken the same day. This informant saith that on this day fortnight at night about ten or eleven of the clock he heard the voice of a woman and a child as neare as he could guesse passinge by his door and that he knew not the voyce of the woman but the voyce of the child he very beleived was [the voyce of one Sara Mosse a child lately lost whose voyce] very well knowne to this informant she liveinge next house to him very neare him, and this informant further saith that the sd. child did very often come to this informants house and that he did never perceive any discontent in the sd. child but this informant hath heard the sd. child often times merry and singing when her dame hath been abroad and that he this Informant hath seen her very well clothed by Thomas Willimott and his wife and that he doth verily beleive the sd. child was very well provided for both for diet lodging and clothing and hath seen her severall tymes feed with the sd. Willimottes owne children, And this Informant further saith that hee heard one Goodwife Mosse mother in law to the said child say and wish with all her heart that the said child would drown it selfe or make it selfe away that Goodwife Willimott might suffer. And this informant further saith that one Mr. John Neale of the sd. towne of Houghton Conquest told him on Satterday was seavennight that the sd. child was safe and well provided for and wanted for nothing but only they would have Willimott pay the money back. sign: Richard Gwynn
