    Mary Mosse, Houghton Conquest widow even date 1669. Heard Eliz Willmott wife say c. 9 months previously that she thought she would be the death of Sarah Mosse. (who was put out apprentice by town of Houghton Conquest), since Thomas took her against the will of Elizabeth his wife. The information of Mary Mosse of Houghton Conquest in the sd. County widow taken the same day before the same J.Ps. This informant saith that she being at the dore of her house which is part of the dwelling house of Thomas Willimott of Houghton Conquest aforesaid & hearing Eliz. Willimott the wife of the said Thomas wife and Eliz. Norman a bedrid woman discoursing together in the sd. Willimotts house heard the sd. Eliz. wife about three quarters of a yeare since say that she thought she should be the death of this girle - (meaning as this Informant conceives) one Sarah Mosse which was putt forth by the towne of Houghton Conquest aforesd. as an apprentice to the aforesd. Thomas Willimott because the sd. Thomas wife tooke the sd. Sarah Mosse into the house against her will And this informant hath heard that the sd. Eliz. wife hath often beate the sd. girle And further saith not. The mark of the abovesd. Mary Mosse.
