Deposition: William Thorowgood Assault on him by Robert Wright between Biggleswade and Shefford. ...... (illegible)............... before Jn Ventris J.P. Esq. on June (?) 1668. This informant sayeth that coming from Bigelswade about 9 of the clocke at night on Munday last being the 22nd of June he overtooke Robert Wright in the midway betwixt Bigelswade and Shefford and that then and there he said Robert did assault him the sd. William Thorowgood and pulld him from his horse and tooke from him betwene 3 and four pounds of lawfull money of England and afterward ran into the next ryefeild. then the sd. William Thorowgood caught his owne horse which was strayed from him and rid the next way to Broome in the parish of Southwell wheare he met the sayd Robert Wright and their charged the Constable with him, and farther sayeth not.
