    Depositions: Richard Bamford, Gt.Paxton. 1 May 1668 Found child wrapped in a red blanket and saw a woman immediately before. Joyce Bamford, wife of Richard Bamford: Saw child in red blanket under a bush on a bed of cowslips. Mary Corbett, Great Paxton: Child brought to her house, helped undress it; detailed description of clothing. The Information or examination of Richard Bamford of Great Paxton in the county of Hunts. taken before me Richard Nailour Esq., one of his majesties justices of the peace in the county of Hunts the first day of May in the twentieth yeare of Charles 2 This informant being duely sworne upon the holy evangelist add examined upon his oath saith that as he went to his pasture to milke his cowes upon Wednesday the 22nd day of April 1668, he found a young infant in the parish of Great Paxton aforesaid rapt up in a red blankett with a blew lincee woollsey cloth under it. Upon the Tuesday night imediately before he did see a wooman in a gray hood and a red pettecoat underneath her uper garment which he knoweth not the couller of, and further he saith not. The information of Joyce Bamford the wife of Richard Bamford taken at the same time upon oath saith as followeth, that as she went with her husband to milke: she saw a yong infant lye under a bush upon a bed of cowslips which she took up and found it alive and laid it downe againe and after aquanted the Towne with it. she saith alsoe that it was wraped up in a red blanket and that it had a doubble linnen cloth upon the head pind down the breast of it and further she saith not. The Information of Mary Corbet of Great Paxton aforesd. taken at the same time upon oath, saith as foloweth that a very yong female infant was brought to her house by severall of the parishioners of Great Paxton aforesaid and that she did help to undress it and it had upon it two red blankets and two blewe linceywoollsey blankets cast over with browne thread and it had one linen bed and one doubble cloth under it and it had upon the head one doubble cloth pind over the face, one white callico hood, one crosscloth and a Biggin. it had alsoe a red was coat and a shirte and a neckcloth and a bibb and further she saith not.
