    (Recital I) Marriage Settlement dated 15th Dec 1852 between (i) Robert Hinley Wilkinson, Kings Cross College, Cambridge, Esq (ii) Catherine Ann Caroline Obert of Chesfield Lodge, Herts, spinster (iii) Catherine Wilkinson (iv) Marc Antoine Parkins Obert, captain of her majesty's 97th Regiment of Foot; Henry Hoyle Oddie of Tilgate Manor, Sussex, Esq; Isaac Herbert Wilkinson of Upper Hare Park, Camb, Esq and Thomas Irwin Barstow of the Temple London, Barrister. Reciting: - (i) entitled to land in Stotfold on death of (iii) his mother, subject to annuity of 250 by will of Isaac Hindley in favour of daughters of her cousin Ann McBride, Whitehaven and a mortgage dating 24th May 1850 that secured 7000 and interest to George Rust. - Intended marriage between (i) and (ii) - Intended on marriage that land should be conveyed to (iv) upon trusts. Operative: In consideration of the marriage between (i) and (ii), (i) with consent of (ii) conveys to (iv). Properly: (Freehold only) (a) Several messuages, farm-houses and parcels of land situate in Stotfold, late in the several occupations of William Plyer, Samuel Bowman and Mary Hide or assigns containing 805a 1r 3p. (Mr Bowman occupies High Field 280a and Marsh Fields 274a 3r 5p) (b) Freehold hereditaments of (i) in the parish of Stotfold (except 2 small pieces of garden ground containing 19p on law common in the occupation of Edward Gentle). Habendum: - To hold unto (iv) subject to annuity of 250 and mortgage security aforesaid mentioned. - To use of (i) until marriage - After to the use of (iv) upon trust for covenants (below) for (i), (ii) and their first born; ultimate remainder lies with (i). Covenants: - (iv) powers of disposition and sale. - Money from sales to go towards the satisfaction and discharge of the principal sum and the surplus to be invested in purchase of other hereditaments. (Recital II) Conveyance dated 9th Jan 1857 between (i) George Rust (ii) Catherine Wilkinson (iii) R.H. Wilkinson (iv) Marc Antoine Parkins Obert, Henry Hoyle Oddie, Isaac Herbert Wilkinson and Thomas Irwin Barstow. Reciting: - Marriage Settlement at recital (I) - Articles of Agreement dated 24th Apr 1856 between (1) (ii) and (2) M. Pryor working for the committee of visitors having authority to provide an asylum for pauper & lunatics for Beds, Herts and Hunts under the Lunatic Asylums Act 1853. For sum of 1908/12/4 for 200a of land in Stotfold. (scheduled below) - Conveyance of said 200a in Stotfold dated 31st Oct 1856 between (1) (i) (2) (ii) (3) (iii) (4) (ii) & (iii) (5) (iv) (6) Committee of Visitors and (7) James Brownlow William Marquess of Salisbury, William Henry Whitbread, Thomas Charles Higgins, Marlborough Pryor and John Moyer Heathcote (nominated by Committee of visitors to purchase land for asylum).In consideration of 1908/12/4 land is conveyed to (5) upon trust for the purposes of the asylum. 200 acres comprised of 50a 18p in High Field and Marsh Field in occupation of Mary Hide; 49a 3r 22p in the same fields in the occupation of Samuel Bowman; 75a in the same field also occupied by Samuel Bowman and 25a in Log Field in Stotfold also occupied by Samuel Bowman. Operative (1) in consideration of principal and interest owed to him through mortgage conveys (a) to (4). Property: All freehold hereditaments and premises not conveyed to the Lunatic Asylum Trustees. Covenants: Subject to the provisos stated in the marriage settlement at recital (I). (Recital III) Mary McBride died on 2nd Apr 1854 at 111 Queen Street, Whitehaven, Cumberland. (Recital IV) Declaration dated the 9th Sep 1856 and made by Henry James Johnson of Whitehaven, grocer declaring that Ann Lawson & Elizabeth Piper reside at 111 Queen Street and that they are the only surviving daughters of John McBride of Whitehaven, brewer, deceased and his wife Ann. (Recital V) Elizabeth Piper died on 1st Mar 1860 (Recital VI) Ann Lawson died on 19th Jan 1867 (Recital (VII) Henry Hoyle Oddie died May 1869 and was buried at Shenley, Herts on the 26th May 1869. (Recital VIII) Catherine Wilkinson died on 11th Jan 1873 and was buried at Swaffham Prior, Cambs on the 16th Jan 1873. (Recital IX) Succession duty account on death of CW in respect of property devised under the will of Robert Wilkinson; being all that farm and land called Bury Farm, Stotfold let to Samuel Bowman for 260. (Recital X) Conveyance dated 19th Oct 1876 between (i) Marc Antoine Perkins Obert of No 20 Palace Gardens Terrace, Kensington, Middlesex, late a captain in the 97th regiment of foot; Herbert Wilkinson of Upper Hare Park, Camb and Thomas Irwin Barstow of Inner Temple, barrister of law. (ii) Robert Hindley Wilkinson a Lieutenant Colonel late of the Bedfordshire Militia now of Chesfield Lodge, Graveley, Herts and his wife Catherine Ann Caroline (ii) William Medlock of no. 63 Gower Street, Bedford Square, Middlesex, potato salesman. Reciting: - Robert Wilkinson late of war office deceased, by will dated 13th Feb 1838 devised to wife Catherine all his farms, lands and hereditaments in Stotfold. After her decease unto his son RHW free from charges except annuity of 250 owed to daughters of Ann McBride. - Ann McBride had 3 daughters; Mary McBride, Elizabeth McBride (w. of William Piper) and Ann McBride (w. of Thomas Lawson) all died at 111 Queen Street, Whitehaven: MM on 2nd Apr 1854, EP on 1st Mar 1860 and AL on 19th Jan 1867. - Codicil of Robert Wilkinson's will whereby his debt to Mr Veasey is to paid out of his Stotfold property. - Death of RW on 10th Mar 1839. - Marriage Settlement at (Recital I) - Marriage between Robert Hinley Wilkinson and Catherine Ann Caroline Obert in the Parish Church of Marylebone, London on the 16th Dec 1852. Operative: In consideration of 1320 (i) and (ii) conveys (a-b) to (iii) Property: (a) All that piece of market garden and land having a frontage of 173ft to the main road leading from Stotfold & Astwick to 3 Counties Asylum, Willbury Hills and Hitchin containing 5a 1r 15p (coloured pink in attached plan) (b) All market garden land having a frontage of 666ft to a new accommodation road leading to the main road and containing 10a 3r 10p (coloured yellow in attached plan) Covenants Production of deeds relating to the property (see schedule below) at any future case of sale.
